Maidstone nursery children create citrus soup tuff tray

Children at Bright Horizons Maidstone Turkey Mill Day Nursery and Preschool have been learning about food that keeps us healthy and helps us grow.

The children created a citrus soup tuff tray where they used real citrus to squeeze and smell. They also used a water dispenser to place oranges, lemons and water inside to allow them to freely pour their own drinks.

“They smelt the fruit and described what they could smell,” said Nursery Manager Vicky Thompson. “This activity promoted all the children’s play schemas, encouraging them to pour, transform and empty.”
