Welcome to Wilmington Day Nursery and Preschool, Our dedicated and passionate staff are committed to providing the best care and early education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
We have five rooms: a baby and toddler room, a nursery room and a preschool room. The nursery provides a friendly, family feel where everyone knows each other.
Our baby room is for children aged 3 to 20 months and has a warm and cosy atmosphere. Babies have access to their own private garden, and we follow individual home routines as closely as possible to make the transition from home to nursery easier.
The toddler room is for children from 20 to 30 months, where we learn and explore through play and exciting activities.
In the busy nursery room, we prepare children aged 30 to 42 months for starting preschool, with activities planned around the children’s interests.
Our preschool room has a more structured focus, with both adult and child-led activities. Here, your child will learn the skills they need to feel ready to start school.
Children also enjoy Boogie Mites music sessions where they can learn about the world through music and song.
Your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum, designed by our own Early Years specialists.
Building on the foundations of the government’s EYFS curriculum, Bright Beginnings combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child’s wellbeing, development, and progress – whether that’s moving rooms or preparing them for school.
You can stay updated with your child’s day through our Bright Horizons Family app.
To ensure your little learner is confident to start school, our older children take part in our Ready for School programme, which brings structure and focus to maths, reading, writing, and other essential skills they need to get ready for school.
As well as our five home base rooms, your child will also benefit from our specialist rooms, including a sensory room, a preschool learning room, and our brilliant children’s kitchen.
We offer eight-week childcare 'settling in' sessions for new parents and children. This enables us to start building relationships with you and your little one before your child actually starts. We provide you with regular updates on your child's progress, offering reassurance and comfort at a key time. Our babies and toddlers have a daily contact book so you and your key people can share thoughts and information, and our quarterly parent evenings are a further opportunity to strengthen the partnership between parents and carers.
We also work in conjunction with the parents, inviting you to share your work experiences with the children, offering lending libraries and inviting you to open days at weekends. This is so working parents have more time to look through learning journals, speak to key people and, of course, play!
Our nursery has two lovely outside areas, including one specifically for the under 2’s. Both areas have an all-weather surface, so the ground is safe to play on in all conditions, and offer freeflow access from the classrooms, allowing your child to use the garden throughout the day.
The outside area also attracts lots of wildlife, providing lots of wonderful learning opportunities for the children.
We’re so excited to meet you and your little one. To visit our nursery in Wilmington yourself and discover everything we have to offer, get in touch today and arrange your own personal tour.
Our calculator enables you to estimate your basic fees BEFORE childcare funding is applied. We’ve taken this approach as funding is dependent on your own very individual situation, how old your child is, where you live, whether you’re working and so on.
Our comprehensive funding guides provide guidance on what funding you’re likely to be eligible for, we can send this to you after you’ve estimated your fees.
When you visit us, we can also help you understand your options and work out what your net fees will be after any childcare funding is taken into account.
Oops! We appear to be having a few technical challenges! Our team is working hard to get our fee calculator back up and running soon as soon as possible. Thanks for bearing with us.
