A purpose built stand-alone nursery and preschool is under construction as part of the ongoing urban extension to the north of Bishop’s Stortford and is due to open in early 2024.
The new build nursery is part of the Stortford Fields estate development located on the outskirts of the town. The 2,200 new homes development is just a few minutes’ drive from Bishop’s Stortford railway station.
Harvey Lay, Property Director at Bright Horizons said: “We are delighted that we’ll be expanding our existing portfolio by opening Bright Horizons Bishop’s Stortford Day Nursery and Preschool. The location is really accessible, and we’re excited to be at the heart of this exciting development and be able to support the families in this new community as they grow and evolve.”
When it does open early next year, Bright Horizons Bishop’s Stortford Day Nursery and Preschool will employ approximately 30 people and will cater for children aged three months to five years old. There will be three spacious baby rooms and two toddler rooms, each with direct access to their own gardens. A large preschool room will offer an exciting play and learning environment where children will begin preparing for the next adventure of school. Key features at the setting will include dedicated calm spaces, role play kitchens and exciting water play stations, so children can explore and develop their curiosity and knowledge.
Little ones will get the best start through an enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum, designed by Early Years specialists from Bright Horizons. Building on the foundations of the government’s EYFS curriculum, Bright Beginnings puts each child’s happiness and wellbeing at its heart. This holistic yet personal approach will support each child’s wellbeing, development, and progress.
Parents should look to make the best of their Government Funded Hours
30 hours of funded childcare add up to 1,140 fun-filled hours of play and learning a year! Just imagine the fun your child could have, learning and exploring for over 1,000 hours at a beautiful, new Bright Horizons nursery.
Kim Lawrence, Regional Director at Bright Horizons, explains: “Childcare costs can be a source of worry. We are keen to help parents to understand what government support is available for them, how to get it and how changes in the future may benefit them. We want to make sure that families use their funding to its full potential.”
In March 2023, the Government announced plans to increase access to funded childcare hours to include younger children. The phased introduction of this plan begins in April 2024 through to September 2025:
