Central London Nursery Unveils Newly Refurbished Garden Area

Bright Horizons City Child Day Nursery and Preschool in the heart of the Barbican area of London is thrilled to announce their newly refurbished garden area. The space has been carefully designed with help from the talented Pre School children as part of Bright Horizons ‘Connecting with Nature’ strategy.

This exciting transformation began in December and included a range of new resources and features that will provide a stimulating and enriching learning experience for the children.

Included in the garden is a brand-new mud kitchen, access to which can be taken via a style, a tunnel, or a gate, ensuring endless hours of fun and adventure for all who enter. The nursery has also introduced a new walk in sand pit providing wonderful sensory experiences for even the youngest children.

In line with their commitment to environmental sustainability, Bright Horizons City Child Day Nursery and Preschool has installed water butts to collect rainwater, promoting water conservation. The nursery will also be incorporating gardening activities, encouraging children to learn about growing plants and vegetables. Additionally, they are exploring ways to support the local wildlife, including animals from the adjacent forest, and have set up a bug hotel for the children to observe and learn about insects and mini beasts.

To celebrate the latest garden additions, Bright Horizons City Child Day Nursery and Preschool held an open day on Saturday. Families were invited to visit and explore the newly transformed space, which also features an outdoor classroom.
