Our nursery setting is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30, for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Our nursery is housed in a beautifully converted church which boasts some of the original features. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.
We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery, and we provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by our own chef.
The nursery has two gardens allowing babies and toddlers a smaller space and Nursery Class and Preschool have a bigger space to run and explore.
Our highly qualified team helped us secure a Good rating in our latest Ofsted inspection.

I have been working within Bright Horizons for over eleven years starting as a nursery nurse at Shortlands and then progressing to deputy manager. I then moved to our Caterham branch in 2016 gaining experience in a larger nursery before returning to Shortlands as the manager in January 2018.
I have my degree in Early Childhood studies and feel this has given me the insight into child development. I have had experience in a nursery in Australia and continue to enjoy refreshing my knowledge and experiences in early years.
My passion has always been to guide each child to reach their full potential and I feel blessed that I get to make an impact on their lives at the most important time of their development.
I have been working in the childcare field for over 13 years with seven and a half of those years at Bright Horizons Shortlands. I started as an apprentice and have worked my way up to room leader, third in charge and was promoted to Deputy manager in 2018.
I feel so incredibly lucky in my job role as I get to help develop the children, the team and the rooms. I especially enjoy watching the children grow and progress in each room until they graduate to their reception class at school.
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
