An Outstanding preschool in Twickenham

St Mary's Preschool in Twickenham is a bright, happy children's nursery, situated on the main road just a short walk from Twickenham train station, Strawberry Hill and the town centre.

Our aim is to ensure children in our care are developing to the best of their abilities within an environment that promotes their individuality. We provide a superb environment which allows the children to develop their interests and be challenged. Our nursery offers a homely and friendly environment. Staff are always there to listen and support both you and your child to settle into nursery life as quickly and smoothly as possible.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

We are thrilled to announce that the nursery received a glowing report from Ofsted who praised the nursery team for how they “demonstrate enthusiasm and positive attitudes when supporting children's learning in a rich and stimulating indoor and outdoor environment”. The report also highlighted how the children “behave exceptionally well and show respect for each other”

Our delicious, healthy and nutritious food, sourced from trusted suppliers is prepared and cooked by our very own chef. We hold a 5* EHO rating for food safety and hygiene. Menus change seasonally and cater for all dietary requirements. We also offer Wrap Around Care which consists of a Breakfast Club and an After School Club. This caters for children out of school hours, term time only. We are located within the catchment of St Mary’s Church of England Infant School and St Stephen's Church of England. We will be delighted to welcome you to St. Mary's Preschool in Twickenham.

Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Meet the Team

St Mary's Twickenham Manager

Sunny Dowlatshahi

I have been working in childcare for 20 years, managing various settings for the past 17 years. I took a break for few months to spend time with my family and joined Bright Horizons in January 2017 when I joined the lovely Twickenham West Nursery and Preschool as a Nursery Manager transferring over to Asquith St Mary's in January 2018.

I feel I have the best job in the world and I'm very excited and proud to be working with a team of professionals.

I strongly believe we should provide a home from home environment to help every child to feel happy and secure when they are with us in the nursery.

Asquith St Marys Pre-School Deputy Manager

Rachel Bryant

I have worked for Bright Horizons for 17 years. I started as a part-time nursery assistant at a client based nursery. I gained my NVQ Level 3 through the company. I started working full-time and worked at two different nurseries in the area, working my way up to deputy manager position, before arriving at St Mary’s.

I have two daughters that have both graduated from university, and now out in the big wide world.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
